Recent updates

Hello everybody, I have got a few things for news! So, if any of my readers are Axxis fans then you might know, and if you dont well, this is why I am telling you. So Axxis' 25th anniversary albums are coming out on the 28th. Yes, I said albums! There is a black and white edition. There are different songs on each disc. The Black edition is more of the harder material and the White Edition is more of the softer rocker/ballad stuff. they are both fantastic and they are availible on Itunes and Amazon for preorder! Also, I posted about The Capistrano Birds awhile back but I highly recommend checking them out. they are newly signed and have their first album out. It is self titled and is only 7.99 on Amazon. they are folk rock based. The price is very affordable, I just purchased the album the other day and they should get some support for the awesome job they did.
God Bless all!!

Memory lane

Hello all you out there! Happy Sunday to all of you. I trust today has treated you well. Last night I was browsing through music on Spotify and I ran across a lot of music that I listened to growing up. It is really fantastic and I thought that I might share it with you. The artists that I used to listen to were,
David Benoit - He is a Jazz pianist who put out quite a few albums. He is a fantastic musician who has some great material.
The Rippingtons -  Another great Jazz band. These bands that I am listening are more of the harder side of Jazz.
Craig Chaquico - He used to be the lead guitarist for the band Jefferson Starship back in the 80's. His solo work is really fantastic. He kinda retains his skill except on a more Jazz/ alternative side.
Eric Marienthal -  This guy is an incredible Jazz saxophonist. He also has some great works.
These are some of the bands and people I used to listen to growing up. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did and still do.

Shocking Blue

So, I was listening to some oldies and I ran into one of my old favorites that I had nearly forgot about. They are called Shocking Blue. They are a band formed by Dutch musicians. They are of the late 60s early 70s. There are 4 members Robbie van Leeuwen on guitar, Fred DeWilde originally on Vocals. He was replaced by Mariska Veres. She is an incredible vocalist. She had such a powerful voice. She died of cancer in 2006. RIP. On Bass was Klaasje Van der Wal and on Drums was Cornelius Van Der Beek. They were an incredible line up and had many great albums. Some great songs are Send Me a Postcard, Shocking You, This America and many more. So go check them out. They are sure to provide many hours of enjoyable listening.

A Thought on the blog, some reflections and some new albums

So I am thinking that what I will do is that if there is a certain genre or something that you wish me to discuss or cover on my blog just let me know because that way I will be able to interact better with my readers and audience. I find music to be a wonderful thing and a universal thing that everyone can relate with in some way. Another thing is that it is very influential emotionally and mentally. It can drive passions and give motivation to the unmotivated. Yes, music is a very powerful and beautiful gift that we have been given. I have found it to be a way of conversing and communicating that is many times, more effective than actual speech because it is a different way of expressing oneself. The way the notes are written up and down and sung as well as the beat and cadence. It can speak to people in unimaginable ways. I have found that a lot of mainstream and modern music have become like most words and speech nowadays. It is repetetive and empty. No variation, no emotion and it is sad to see because some people do not understand what music truly is and the power it contains. I entreat you to think about this a bit and come back to me with your feedback. I would like to hear what you think about this idea.
Now, enough about that for now. I have found a few albums recently. One of them is Evan and Jaron by Evan and Jaron. They have a really good sound and incredible talent for harmonies. they have a persuasion of Brian Adams in their style. The content of their lyrics are wholesome and true to life. Some of their songs have had an impact on me.
The second is  Perception by Blessid Union of Souls. They are an alternative with content similar to Evan and Jaron except maintaining their individual style.
Hope you enjoy!
